HOWARD TRAVEL PIONEERS DESKTOP TRAVEL TV

A Trowbridge travel agency has become the first in the UK to harness a pioneering on-demand TV system to desktop monitors for its customers.

The Travel TV system is normally piped via a powerful broadband connection to large screens so that travel agents can show films of destinations, activities and holiday types. But as well as linking the new system to two 42" wall-mounted TV screens Howard Travel has also connected them to eight monitors on agents' desks.

An established strategy by Miles Morgan Travel to focus on developing long haul sales has received a significant boost with the miniple reporting it is now out-performing the market by 25 percent.

Managing director Miles Morgan, former sales and marketing director at Thomson Holidays, has attributed the sales hike to the installation of the Travel TV system in seven of the eight shops he runs in the South West and Wales.
